The Fuller Times The pre-race release of seven-time NHRA Top Fuel winner Rod Fuller and the Caterpillar Top Fuel team Contact: Ted Yerzyk, (317) 852-6363 o, or (760) 207-9767 c ted@davidpowersmotorsports.com 29th annual Mopar Mile-High Nationals July 11-13, 2008 Bandimere Speedway Morrison, Colo. Rod Fuller on Denver “We’re looking forward to defending our win at Denver. Last year, was an awesome race for us. Being an old sportsmen racer and knowing the Bandimere’s so well, I always look forward to racing there. This is a big three-race swing and we want to move up in the points with a good showing starting at Denver.” Rob Flynn (crew chief) on Denver “We looking forward to working with the Wagner people again and hopefully we can put the CAT car back in the winner’s circle again. Denver is always a challenge because of the conditions. Now we have a different tire and the chassis has changed, so those variables make things different from the previous year.” Rod Fuller Denver NHRA Notebook Two weeks ago in Norwalk, Ohio, Fuller raced the Ohio CAT dragster his seventh career pole with a lap of 4.629 seconds at 311.13 mph. It was his second straight No. 1 qualifier at the Norwalk race and first of the 2008 season. Fuller advanced to the semifinals for the fourth time this season. He also recorded low E.T. (4.541 seconds) and top speed (320.43 mph) of the event. Fuller enters the 13th race on the 2008 NHRA racing schedule ranked fourth in the Top Fuel standings. The Las Vegas racer has one win (St. Louis) in two final rounds this season. He has one pole (Norwalk) and recorded low E.T. of the meet three times and top speed of the meet twice. Last summer at Denver, Fuller scored his fifth career Top Fuel victory. He qualified his Wagner CAT dragster third with a run of 4.615 at 319.75 and defeated teammate Whit Bazemore in the final round 4.683 to 4.770. It was Fuller’s 12th career Top Fuel final round and his second win of the ‘07 NHRA season. Fuller’s final round E.T. was the quickest of eliminations. Fuller has qualified for 73 consecutive NHRA Top Fuel events. He has the second longest qualifying streak in Top Fuel (Tony Schumacher) and has an average qualifying position of 6.92 in 12 races this season. Fuller has 13 career NHRA sportsmen victories in the Super Comp (seven) and Super Gas (six) categories. He has 20 career NHRA national event victories, seven coming in Top Fuel. Fuller’s Caterpillar-backed dragster will be flying the colors of Wagner CAT during the Denver race.
